Our mission is to live knowing the heart of God and expressing his heart to others, demonstrating his love and power in all sorts of ways as a creative and diverse community of real life folks.

Our aim is first to be a community of people who have God among us. We try to keep things simple, with God among us doing what he does best through his people, bringing heaven to earth.

We value living free, in constant connection with his Spirit instead of living following rules. (Without this connection you just have religion which is pretty boring at best and we like to have fun!)

We’re passionate about people encountering God for themselves, not relying on fancy meetings, pastors, worship leaders or anyone else to connect with God for them.  We aim to empower and release people at all stages of the journey to get connected with God, ignited by his love and living in the freedom and destiny he has for them.

We see a growing community of people who value the presence of God, know his heart and can’t help but express it!  This is simply through everyday life as well as through working together to demonstrate God’s love and power in all sorts of creative ways.  Church isn’t something you go to it’s a community of people, like a family.  So we shape and structure things more like a family than an institution.

We love being based in Glasgow, because we believe Glasgow is a city which will be known for the Glory of God and our vision is to be part of the transformation that God has in his heart for this city and nation, to see many people awakened to the reality of God’s love, encountering and expressing his heart to the world.

It’s for anyone from any background interested in exploring things for themselves.  Essence aims  to give you a chance to “Taste and See” what God is like.

There’s opportunity to meet folk who are on the journey of life with God and chat about life, God, faith and spiritual things.   We look forward to meeting you.

Our Leadership

The leaders of Living Streams are Andy and Joanna Fulton.

Living Streams has a Core Leadership team of 4 people.  Together they are passionate about the church community living in the Presence of God and the Freedom of his Spirit. They desire that people get to know God for who he really is, being connected with the very heart of God. The Core Leadership follow the lead of Holy Spirit to ensure church is shaped as God wants it, with firm foundations and clear structure, as well as reflecting the fluid, organic nature of God’s family. They see part of their role in serving the church is to empower and release people to live the unique destiny God has for them, rather than fit people into boxes.  That way, we are all free to discover and pursue who God has made us and fulfil the purpose and role God has for us on the earth in the times in which we live.

What do we believe?
Basically we believe in the teaching of Jesus that can be found in the bible. If you want to know what that is, then read the writings of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John as a starting point.
In a nut shell, we believe Jesus was telling the truth and that he was more than just a man with a few followers. What he did has released power for those who choose to believe and trust their lives to him, to live a truly spiritual life, returning to living personally knowing God.  Jesus said we can have heaven on earth, so the supernatural power of God is an essential part of what we believe.

What is Elim?
Living Streams is an Elim Pentecostal Church. Elim is a movement consisting of around 600 Christian churches in the UK and over 9000 world wide.  If you want more detail on our beliefs or on Elim, you can visit the Elim Website.  We also partner with other churches in Glasgow and further afield as the people of God work together to reveal the loving heart of God in Glasgow and Scotland.

Where are we based?

We’re based in Glasgow, Scotland.

We have people who are part of Living Streams who live all over Glasgow.

There are various times and places we get together.

On a Sunday we meet in a commuity centre (see contact for directions)  in the Netherton/Temple/Shafton area, by Knightswood and Anniesland.

We also run nights in Starbucks on Byres Rd and also meet in various homes.  Church isn’t a building or place, it’s people, so whenever we get together, wherever it is, we have church.

At Living Streams, children and young people can experience God for themselves and play an active part in the Kingdom of God. We believe they have the same importance in the church community as adults and they are as much part of the team.

KidSpace

We like to make sure Kids have space to be kids and that they can experience being part of Living Streams in ways that work for them.  We have various aspects to this at different times.

At our main Gatherings we make space for kids to express themselves and enjoy the experience.   Babies and toddlers are also very welcome. We don’t have special facilities for them, but we have lots of people who make them feel welcome and loved and help even the youngest to encounter God.

Sunday Gathering
We meet as a whole group on the 2nd and 3rd Sunday of the month in a community centre. (See contact for directions.) We get together to worship God, encounter him together and celebrate what he is doing among us.

Tent of Meeting
We hold a ‘Tent of Meeting’ night on the first Friday of each month.  This is an exciting night of worship and encounter where we come with no agenda but simply to have an extended time to meet with God and let him do what he wants among us.   The ‘Tent of Meeting’  is mentioned in the bible as a place Moses would meet with God, be with him and speak with him.  This can happen anywhere but we’re setting aside the first Friday of the month as a time anyone can come and experience the freedom that is felt in the presence of God. Venue for each month will be confirmed on the calendar page.

Healing
We have a team who can offer healing prayer. God is real and powerful and we’ve seen all sorts of conditions, including medically verified cases of serious illnesss or pain which God has simply removed. We can offer healing for emotional and spiritual issues as well as physical. Just get in touch, ask, and we can explain how it all works!

Cells and Teams
Being part of ‘church’ doesn’t mean going to a meeting once a week and becoming like everyone else. It’s about belonging to a diverse community of imperfect people who are living with a common purpose. Various groups of folk get together outside our main gatherings to connect, support one another and work together in various ways.

We run something called Essence, which is a pressure free way to find out about and experience God for yourself.  Click Essence for more.

Prayer
We pray lots.  It’s just part of who we are.  God doesn’t want to keep His plans a secret and he wants us involved in what he is doing in this city and nation. Praying isn’t just coming to God with a list of things we want, it’s really part of relating with God.  Part of this is that he makes things different because we ask.  (Matthew 6:10, John 14:13-14)

Inside Out
We love to express the Kingdom of God in various ways.  Jesus came to the earth on a mission and we follow his example, led by Holy Spirit, to let people know just how amazing, real and powerful God is.

Other Events
We do lots of things.  We live life and share it.  Occasionally we run specific events to help people from all backgrounds, with or without any experience of church, God or spirituality, to find out about God and experience what he’s really like.
